Our Expression of Generosity: The "Tithe"
We acknowledge that God owns everything. He is the ultimate owner of all that we possess,
and we are merely stewards or managers of those resources. Our financial model comes from
the direction of the Bible, which teaches us to make a firm decision to regularly give a
percentage of our income to God’s church. Scripture refers to this kind of increased, regular
giving as the “tithe”, or a “tenth”. (Malachi 3:10)
We believe the practice of giving 10% of our income is how the Lord intended to resource the
work of the church and advance the kingdom of God. New Heights Church teaches people to
commit to give a percentage small enough to be reachable, but big enough to stretch our faith
and obedience to God. Then, commit to regularly grow that percentage up to and beyond the
“tithe” as our faith and confidence in His provision grows.
